Responsibilities for PSW Jobs In Toronto 2024:
- Assist with daily living activities: meal preparation, shopping, light housekeeping, laundry, and respite.
- Assess the safety of the environment during each visit.
- Treat patients with compassion and respect.
- Exercise judgment and seek supervisory assistance when needed.
- Report observations or concerns to appropriate individuals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications for PSW Jobs In Toronto 2024:
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Proficient in English communication (verbal and written); additional languages are an asset.
- Ability to travel between assignments (transit or car).
- Meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of Ministry of Education-approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours).
- RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students who have completed Year 1.
- Valid certificate as a Home Support Worker (level II or III), Health Care Aide, Personal Attendant, or Developmental Support Worker.
- Community PSW experience is an asset.
- Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
- Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid Certificate.
- Meet Public Hospitals Act health surveillance requirements.
- VSS within the past 2 years confirmed no criminal history.
